They joked about Singapores election system. Ruling party already knew it won more than half the parliamentary seats just after registration of candidates, before the elections was held.
Ma has said that Singapore is not democratic but is corruption free, efficient, professionally governed!?
Singaporeans have essentially gave up happiness(liberty) for efficiency(security).
Taiwanese initially do not disclaim that Singapore has an almost corruption free government.
But now Singapores PM is also FM; PMs wife controls Temasek ; Father is MM; PMs brother LHY is currently a director in Islamic bank of Asia.
Taiwan has never had a family that control the states wealth like the Lee family in Singapore does.
Singapore has no transparency in the management of the states wealth.
TW is now suspicious of Singapores method of government. Is the government really corruption free?
TW wants an an open society, to pursue economic progress and fight corruption. Integrity, credibility and efficiency are important to TW but these must not be achieved at the expense of democracy..
The Taiwanese also do not wish to take a regressive step back to Jiang Jinquos KMT single party rule, where unfair laws or practices prevent the opposition from legally getting power.

Many of those foreigners I know of said the same thing. They will not admit lah! I like the part whereby they got all the facts on the board on info about the Lees - from old man Lee, all the way to the doter-in law, ho ching.

Thanks for the above, very clear, good summary of what they said.

Whether the present gahmen is corruption free or not, the gahmen know themselves. Any Singaporean who volunteer to check on them on this sensitive issue will definitely get it from them. All I ask for is - there are enough Lees involved in the politics and government business, don't wish there will be any more from the same family holding the same high positions, please be fair to give other singaporeans a chance!!! If not, others will say it is nepotism!! REmember Singapore belongs to all of us, Singapore does not belong to only one group of people! Mr. Green

Taiwan will do what they can to differentiate themselves from China. And having been a sucker for americans fire arms for so many years I am not surprise that Taiwan will have to adopt American style democracy plus a little too much of hollywood, such as fake gun shot wounds to make Chen look like JFK, and WWF in the parliment house. Not saying taiwan is bad or Singapore is good, but I think their politician there are just like actors and actresses in taiwan movie. Full of drama.

These are the exact characteristics of advanced democracies, colourful characters, full of drama and scandals.
Singapore has yet to mature to that level yet.

We have to admit, Taiwan is much more advance than us in that respect.

Hell yeah I am discrediting the TV Station, but what I said is true, the station does have an agenda against Ma. And I would take news program from this station with a very large pinch of salt.

Just because I think this station is bias doesn't mean I believe in everything the ST and Zaobao says. Maurizo13, I don't live in a Monochrome Bitmap world, just because I don't believe in black doesn't automatically mean I have to be white. Suggest you add some colours to your life.

My reasons were posted on the previous page. Basically, KMT made them lose a lot of money and Ma and KMT's legislator uncovered them using lands and constructions illegally.

Did I specifically mention that you believe or don't believe in what Straits Time and Lian He have to say? I just suggest you stick to a Singapore controlled media for your information needs, because other informational sources are all bias, the government controlled medias are the most "unbias", they present the most "favourable" information that suits the government.

Anyway the agenda is against Ma, not against the Singapore government. They are merely stating facts.

The Taiwanese TV station would provide a good counterweight against our government controlled media, which wholly supports the government. Two opposing sides, provides a good balance to the information we receive.

yes those people on the show are using singpapore against Ma, but I give them the credit for doing their homework of digging facts and reality of the ruling party in our country. There is not a single fact they stated which is untrue.

somebody was talking about they are actors and actresses, and what about the local politicians of singapore? Appear during election campaign show face, exercise their acting skills, there was once they even took up a drama role of doing hip hop dance. Ha ha ha, what a good laugh, ROFL!! Mr. Green They are better actors and actresses compared to the Taiwanese.
